Some devotees also observe a fast on this day and visit the Sindhi temples to offer their prayers and seek blessings.

According to the Sindhi society, a ruler named Mirkhshah used to rule in the Indus province, in his kingdom the subjects were tortured by him. After this, the Sindhi society had done prayers for 40 days. Then Lord Jhulelal appeared from the Indus river and said that I will take birth after 40 days and liberate the people from the atrocities of Mirakhshah. After this, on the second date of Chaitra month, a child was born, who was named Uderolal. That child protected everyone from the tyranny of Mirakhshah. On the day of Chetichand, people of Sindhi community celebrate Jhulelal and distribute prasad of sweet rice, boiled salted gram and sherbet.
